La Rivière d'Auray
The river of Auray which throws itself into the Gulf of Morbihan is an enchanted place which leaves nobody indifferent.
Real small ria, you will be surprised to see incomparable landscapes and panoramas which unfold under your eyes : la pointe Kervelannec, Fort Espagnol, the small port of Bono with its suspended bridge built by Gustave Effel....
Auray's harbour at St Goustan with its wood-paneled houses is also known for its 'atmospheric' and 'narrow' cobbled streets. Depending on tides, the ships can access either directly at the port of Bono either at the port of St Goustan. (many shops and restaurants)
In addition to the river of Auray you also may discover the Gulf of Morbihan. This is an unique place : 12 000 hectares sheltered from the swell ; the Gulf of Morbihan is a 'natural harbour' dotted with 42 islands which the most famous are : l’Ile aux Moines (the pearl of the Gulf), l’Ile d’Arz (the Capitain's island). The Gulf is a privileged place for cruises. Whatever the weather, you are able to navigate in complete safety conditions and without seasickness.
The charm of Houat iles in tis authenticity and in the splendour of its natural landscape.
The coastline is remarkable, with large sandy beaches alternating with imposing rocks.
Houat is to be discovered on foot, taking the coastal path and small tracks which riddle the island. The wide beaches are unforgettably beautiful. One of them gently extends for over a kilometer around a small bay at the tip of the island.
